The island of Kauai in Hawaii is still very wild, especially on the rugged west side. It still maintains populations, albeit small and imperilled, of many of Hawaii’s native bird species Unfortunatley, introduced animals such as wild pigs and deer are a problem as the island did not evolve with those species.
